Our Story

Sammy’s Ye Old Cider Mill doesn’t have a sign out front to signify that “this is the place.”  An American Steak House that was started as a speakeasy in the 1920’s by Samuel Fornaro, Sammy’s is today owned and operated by Mr. Fornaro’s grandchildren – Samuel, Philip and MaryAnn Fornaro. The uniqueness of this roadside restaurant is that you place your order upon entering. You then proceed to the original Prohibition-era bar to relax while your dinner is prepared. When your meal is ready, you are called to the upstairs dining room where the first course awaits. All dishes are cooked to order, and meats are dry-aged and hand-cut on premises. In addition to dry-aged steaks and chops, other popular favorites include Maine lobster, shrimp scampi, pastas and seasonal soft-shell and stone crabs. It is the dedication to quality that has built Sammy’s reputation as a restaurant of distinction – for your family, friends and business associates.
